Notes 444 Tech Support

Notes 444 comes with the best technical support in the business. We are there for you if you become confused or get yourself in trouble. Technical support is completely free (with one exception.)

99% of the technical support questions we receive are resolved via email. More elaborate live phone or computer linkup is our next step, should email not be sufficient. We also provide this level of support for free as long as you have a viable backup.

We cannot emphasize strongly enough that valid serial backups are essential for safe computing. Not just for Notes 444, but for all of your important computer files. Hard disks crash, computer files become corrupted when computers crash... but you already know this. Data as important as your clinical charts need a sound backup strategy. We discuss this in detail in the Notes 444 reference manual in the section entitled "The Philosophy of Backing Up," and in its own separate document in more recent downloads.

We also know that a vastly disproportionate amount of our technical support resources go to users who have not maintained viable backups. Their hard disk crashes, a Notes 444 file becomes corrupt, and they contact us in a panic. Our tech support staff spends endless time trying to fix files rather than simply swapping in a backup.

As a result, we modified our completely free technical support policy on April 1, 2010 (after seven years.) All email support is free. All phone and/or computer linkup support is free if a viable backup of needed files are available.

If you get into trouble and you do not have a viable backup, phone and/or computer linkup support will be provided for a fee. We hope everyone practices safe computing, maintains viable backups, and that we never, ever have to charge this fee.
